Glorious Saturday

Waking early on a Saturday,
Taking a moment to remember
What day it is,
Slinking back off to sleep
With a long, happy sigh.
Glorious Saturday.
Alarm-free,
Welcomed with arms,
Heavy with slumber,
Flung lazily over my body
Like a coat on the back
Of a chair.
You feel me stir,
Pull me closer,
Kiss my shoulder,
And sink back into
Well-earned sleep.
Those who are homesick
And far from comfort
Dream of long mornings
In bed with their
Loved one.
Slipping between wake and sleep,
I am grateful, always,
For this bed,
These arms,
This morning.
