Spirals

Spirals tumble
Over my shoulders,
Careless and free.
They creep
Like vines,
Like ivy
Down my body,
Intertwined with
Fingers and toes,
Tying my ankles
Together.
Locked in a tower,
Waiting for true love.
“Let down your hair.”
“Kiss me, Sweet Prince.”
Love at last.
Close the book.
Preserve a lock of hair
Within the pages.
Sleep, soundlessly.
Spirals lay like flowers
Across the pillow.
