Invisibility

I’ve learnt, over time,
To use my ability to hide
As a weapon.
Sometimes it’s easier
To go unnoticed.
I hide behind my smile,
Behind a closed door,
Inside myself.
I hide in the song
That escapes from my lips;
Someone else’s words.
A comforting veil
Of invisibilty.
I’ve discovered
I am happiest
When I go
Unseen.
Tonight, I caught a dandelion seed
In my palm.
I watched it land upon my skin
But I felt nothing.
