My Dear, I Fear I’ve Lost You

I awoke, and knew
I was missing you.
You were missing.
I did not see you leave.
You slipped away in silence.
I pushed you away,
With my words;
My unforgivable words,
My unwelcoming arms.
It’s true, that you don’t know what you have
Until it’s gone.
I close my eyes and picture you
Walking away from me.
I call out to you
But you do not turn.
My dear, I fear I’ve lost you.
Please, turn around.
