The Second Second

In the first second, you freeze.
Time stops.
It all stops.
You can study it closely.
You have time to understand
What is happening.
It’s all happening right there.
Suspended in time.
It’s happening.

In the second second, it hits the floor.
A sound. Smash. Bang. Crash.
It’s that moment of impact; that sound
That restarts time.
It hits the floor and smashes into millions of minute pieces.
Then it’s all over; it’s all in the past.
The unreachable past.
