Tuesday Haiku

Teardrop on your cheek
Kiss it so it disappears
Stop it in its tracks.

Empty envelope
Paper pocket filled with air
Sixty pence* to post.

Fairground carousel
Ornate horses spin and jump
Harpooned by a pole.

Raindrop on petal
Sphere of glass poised on velvet
Sparkling sunlit pearl.

Had a dream that frogs
Would rather eat chips and beans
They’re scared of water.

Room filled with flowers
‘Get well soon, my precious girl.’
Pollen makes her sneeze.

There’s a boy I like
He’s a city boy at heart
Bright lights in his eyes.

(*At the time I wrote this one [March 2014] a First Class stamp cost 60p. They have since gone up to 62p.)
